spacious grounds, Insh House is a Thomas Telford designed manse built in
1828. This grade C listed building
combines the original charm of a traditional Highland home with warmth,
space and hospitality. Our water comes from a natural spring and is
heated partially by solar energy! The accommodation

Telford & Fraser Cottages
are situated in the grounds of Insh House. Built in stone and timber they
combine the traditional appearance of Highland cottages with modern comfort and
convenience. Our "non smoking" cottages are ideal for single, couple or family occupancy and is fully equipped to help you make the most of your self-catering holiday. The accommodation consists of: 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed & one fitted out with bunk beds); Open-plan living room and dining area; Kitchen (with fridge, microwave, hob, oven and spin dryer); Bathroom (with bath, shower, basin & toilet); Each cottage has its own drying room/ski store. There is ample car parking. Dogs are welcome, by prior arrangement but please note they must be exercised off site and not left to roam freely. They must not be left unattended in the cottage. The Cottages are normally let from Saturday to Saturday. Check in - after 4pm. Check out - before 10am. Tariff: Prices vary according to season. As a
guide letting rates are generally between £250 and £400, which includes off peak
electricity and bed linen. A £1 coin meter pays for all other electricity.
Towels can be provided if required. Cheques should be made payable to N. & P. Thompson

watersport activities. Kincraig is an attractive Highland village, conveniently situated between Aviemore, 7 miles to the north and Kingussie, 6 miles to the south. Whether you wish to make the most of the "Great Outdoors" just relax in these wonderful surroundings or spend your holiday touring the rest of the Highlands - from the rugged West coast to the splendour of Royal Deeside - Insh House Guesthouse & Cottages is always your perfect holiday base. Here are a few examples of how you can spend your holiday: Watersports: (May-Oct) Loch Insh Watersports (half mile) offers sailing, canoeing & windsurfing with equipment hire and instruction available. Riding: Alvie Stables (4 miles) provides hourly & daily countryside rides through Alvie Estate and the foothills of the Monadhliaths. Birdwatching: Badenoch & Strathspey is one of Britain's finest locations for a wide variety of birds from the flood plains of the RSPB Insh Marshes Reserve to the ptarmigan and dotterels of the high tops and the now famous ospreys or, in the forests, to the crossbill (the only species of bird which is solely indigenous to Britain). The well known Loch Garten and Loch Ruthven Reserves are also in easy reach. The Highland Wildlife Park: (2.5 miles) Specialises in Scotland's wildlife, past and present, along with endangered animals of the world's mountains and tundra regions.
