Uath Lochans are little known by many visitors as they are situated on the road into Glen Feshie.

They are in an ideally sheltered situation for a hot sunny day or cold and windy day when venturing further into Glen Feshie may not be possible.

The lochans can be reached by turning off the B970 on to the road on the west side of the River Feshie.  Drive along this metallised but narrow road past Balnespick Farm.  Drive over the cattle grid, through a densely wooded area.  The road narrows when you pass a house, on your right hand side.  The sign for Uath Lochan is on the right.  Turn down the track and drive until you arrive at a car park, within the pines.  The sign for Uath Lochan, can be easily missed.   If you reach a more open area with a sign to off to the left for Ballintean you have driven a little too far.

The area is owned by Forest Enterprise and at the entrance to the Car Park, there is a detailed map of the walks available.  The tracks are well marked with short wooden pillars, and colour coded, matching the map.  Walk as near or as far as you wish.  This is an area where you can stretch your legs for a few minutes or a couple of hours, depending on the route you decide to take.

None of the walks are too challenging, and the area is ideal if you just want to stroll from your car down to the lochside.

The area is rich in wildlife and the air has a heavy scent of the pine forest.
